About Danielle
Danielle Heitman
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
The first half of my career was focused on gathering extensive experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings, specifically treating trauma. I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of selecting from a variety of modalities and interventions, on the spot, to meet each client where they are at, as opposed to expecting everyone to be willing and able to participate in traditional talk therapy. And I definitely could not complain about playing and doing art for a living!
Once I was trained in EMDR and opened my private practice, I began expanding my work to teens and adults and realized I can still use my child therapy skills here, as we all have an inner child who needs some attention.
I have since continued shifting my focus more towards self-esteem, food and body image issues, boundaries, and navigating life transitions. I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and have personal experience with recovering from chronic dieting and disordered eating. I really enjoy supporting clients on their quest of finding food and body freedom, learning how to take up space, and improving self-care and coping skills to manage stressful life transitions.
When I’m not doing therapy, I enjoy cooking, yoga, dancing, trying to keep my houseplants alive, and spending quality time with my furbabies.
